Eric Combret

Eric is a 50-year-old true "Gascon", whose first passion was psychoanalysis. When young and completing his degree in psychology, he got quite interested by wine making and actually rapidly made a living by working in south-west vines.

He worked as a "chai master" (the actual wine maker in a wine-estate) for 10 years in Château Sigala-Rabaud, one of the most beautiful wines of Sauternes. When Olivia Donnan started the new life of Masburel in 1997, she had heard of a gascon chai master who was ready to try the adventure and hired him in 1998, as technical director, a position he has been in charge ever since. Still very committed in psychology, with interests in oriental philosophy and aikido. Eric also writes playwrights (about wine...) that are regularly performed in the different theatre festivals in France.
